Supported by the Manufacturers

The Association of Lorry Loader Manufacturers and Importers (ALLMI) is the UK’s only trade association devoted exclusively to advancing safety and standards in the lorry loader industry. A key part of ALLMI’s service to the industry is the supply of training for lorry loader operators and instructors.

ALLMI specialises in lorry loader training and because of this it delivers the highest set of training standards in the UK within this specialist area. ALLMI is supported by the major loader crane manufacturers and importers, and provides the only lorry loader programme in the UK to have received the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) ‘Working in Partnership’ logo and commendation (see below). Representatives from the manufacturers and the HSE sit on the ALLMI Training Standards Committee which develops and maintains the scheme.

“The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) commends the use of this Training Programme to those who have duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. This programme was drawn up with the participation of a HSE representative and will be referred to in relevant HSE publications.”

In addition to having the necessary qualifications and experience, all instructors must attend and pass the ALLMI Instructor course ad all are audited on an annual basis to ensure a high standard is achieved across the training provider network. Every accredited instructor is issued with the ALLMI instructor’s manual and a range of high quality training aids to ensure the effective delivery of the course. Instructors also have access to the ALLMI Instructor Information lines, which provide them with a direct link to the UK’s manufacturers and importers, allowing them to continually keep their product knowledge up to date.
