The Ladder Association was established in 1947 (formerly British Ladder Manufacturers Association (BLMA)). The current membership includes representatives from companies ranging from blue chips to small, privately owned manufacturers of access equipment.

The Ladder Association logo is used on items of access equipment to give the specifiers and users assurance that the product has been produced to the highest standards of design and manufacture.

The Ladder Association works closely with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the British Standards Institute (BSI), to ensure that the voice of both the consumer and the industry is heard during the formulation and revision of legislation relating to access equipment throughout Europe. The Ladder Association is primarily committed to servicing the British market.

Upon successful completion of the course every delegate will receive a certificate and Ladder Association photo card as objective proof of competence.
